Jakarta — Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the newly elected President and Vice President, attended the Nuzulul Qur’an and Iftar together with the Golkar Party at the Golkar Party Headquarters in Jakarta on Friday, March 29.
Prabowo arrived first at 5:00 PM wearing a white koko shirt and a black kopiah. Shortly after, Gibran arrived wearing a brown batik outfit.
Their presence was warmly welcomed by the Chairman of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto. In addition to Nuzulul Qur’an, the Golkar Party also held a thanksgiving event for successfully leading the Prabowo-Gibran presidential election victory in 2024.
During the event, Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the Golkar Party for their joint efforts in the 2024 presidential elections.
“Dear members of the Golkar Party, thank you for giving me the opportunity to express my gratitude for the hard work of the Golkar Party in the recent 2024 election we held together,” said Prabowo.
Although the KPU has officially declared Prabowo-Gibran as the winners, Prabowo stated that he respects the ongoing legal process at the Constitutional Court (MK).
“Even though we still respect the processes that have been carried out and are waiting for the final outcome from the Constitutional Court, I have been continuously engaging in discussions, brainstorming, gathering information, and preparing as best as possible,” explained Prabowo.
Prabowo also expressed his gratitude for being part of the Indonesian Forward Coalition (KIM).
“We are thankful that we are indeed part of the Indonesian Forward Coalition. We are grateful that we did not hesitate, did not feel embarrassed, and did not waver. We clearly stated from the beginning that we are President Jokowi’s team,” he said.
Also present at the event were the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dito Ariotedjo, senior Golkar Party politician Akbar Tanjung, Chairman of the Golkar Party Advisory Board, Agung Laksono, and Golkar Party Central Board members. (SENOPATI)
