Prabowo Subianto, the Indonesian Minister of Defense, recently received a visit from Erick Thohir, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN), and Mohamed Ali Rashed Alabbar, the founder of Emaar Properties, a property businessman from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the owner of the iconic Burj Khalifa, at the Ministry of Defense office in Jakarta, on Monday (27/5).
During the meeting, Prabowo mentioned that Alabbar showed great interest in the growth and development potential in Indonesia, particularly in the tourism sector. Alabbar expressed his confidence in the tremendous growth potential of Indonesian tourism, estimating a possible increase of 200-300 percent, which would have significant economic benefits, including job creation.
Prabowo emphasized the importance of exploring new areas to accelerate growth and improve the welfare of the Indonesian people. He also highlighted that Indonesia is increasingly being recognized as a promising nation that will drive future growth globally.
Alabbar also praised the friendly and polite culture of the Indonesian people, noting their respectful manners towards guests and everyone they meet. Before meeting with Prabowo, Erick and Alabbar had visited the Nusantara Capital (IKN) in East Kalimantan and the Special Economic Zone (KEK) in Sanur, Bali.
