Tender Moments as Prabowo Subianto Says Goodbye to the Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea After a Visit to the Ministry of Defense

Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto personally accompanied Papua New Guinea Prime Minister James Marape to his vehicle on Monday (15/7) after a visit to the Ministry of Defense. The meeting focused on brainstorming ideas and strengthening cooperation between the two countries. Prabowo expressed his appreciation for James’s visit to the Ministry of Defense as the head of state.

Prabowo escorted James to his vehicle, where the Prime Minister thanked Prabowo, who is also the President-elect for the 2024-2029 term.

“Thank you, Mr. President-elect,” James said, exchanging pleasantries and shaking hands with Prabowo.

Prabowo also showed his gratitude and respect for James’s delegation and visit. He invited James to greet the media while putting his arm around him in a friendly manner.

“Thank you,” Prabowo expressed.

Prabowo mentioned that there are various areas in which Indonesia and Papua New Guinea can advance their collaboration after the meeting in the afternoon.

“There are several areas where we can continue to cooperate. They are committed to working with us,” Prabowo stated.

He also highlighted that Papua New Guinea’s national philosophy is closely aligned with Indonesia’s.

“Our aim is to maintain positive relationships. They share the same philosophy as us, valuing the respect of all nations and powers. We have a mutual understanding of the significance of acknowledging all nations. We have no interest in joining any alliances,” Prabowo explained.
