Task Force Denies Reduction in Budget for Free Nutritious Meals
The Prabowo-Gibran Synchronization Task Force has refuted rumors circulating about a decrease in the budget for free nutritious meals from Rp15,000 to Rp7,500 per child. Hasan Nasbi, a member of the communications team, affirmed that the only official information regarding the free meal program is a budget allocation of Rp71 trillion.
“At this point in time, the only decision we have made is the allocation of Rp71 trillion for free nutritious meals,” Hasan stated at the Prabowo-Gibran Synchronization Task Force Media Center in Jakarta on Friday.
Hasan also clarified that there is no specific budget per child determined yet. He emphasized that President-elect Prabowo has instructed to optimize the Rp71 trillion budget to reach as many recipients as possible.
“All research and pilot projects related to nutritious meals will be in line with Prabowo’s direction, as this program is a key initiative of the administration,” Hasan explained.
Regarding the fluctuating budget per child, Hasan mentioned that it will vary based on the location of the recipients. The menu and ingredient prices will be adjusted according to the availability of food in different regions.
“The pricing will depend on the food ingredients accessible in each area, so the menus will differ. The nutritional needs will be tailored accordingly, with prices following suit. That’s roughly how the process will operate,” he concluded.
Furthermore, Budi Satrio Djiwandono, another member of the Task Force, dismissed speculations about a budget cut as unfounded. He emphasized the goal of providing clarity and presenting the facts accurately to address any misinformation circulating.
