In Paris, France, the Indonesian Defense Minister and president-elect, Prabowo Subianto, attended a pencak silat exhibition on Saturday (27/07) where he had an interesting encounter.
At the event, Prabowo met with Indonesian badminton legend Greysia Polii. He was visibly happy as he talked with Greysia, who was accompanied by her husband, Felix Djimin, and their daughter, Jessia Selah Djimin.
During their interaction, Prabowo asked for Jessia’s name while holding her hand, and Greysia and Felix introduced their daughter who is under two years old.
The meeting concluded with a photo session where Greysia asked if they could take a photo, to which Prabowo enthusiastically agreed.
The pencak silat demonstration was part of the exhibition, which aimed to promote this traditional Indonesian martial art on a global scale.
As the Chairman of the Indonesian Pencak Silat Association (PB IPSI) for the 2021-2025 term, Prabowo is committed to elevating pencak silat to an Olympic sport.
