Ankara – The close relationship between Indonesia’s Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was evident following their private meeting in Ankara, Turkey, on Tuesday, July 30.
As Prabowo was preparing to depart the Palace and bid farewell to Erdoğan, the Turkish President personally accompanied him to the awaiting car outside, signaling for him to proceed with his hand.
“This is a privilege for me,” Prabowo remarked before entering the car and exchanging handshakes with Erdoğan.
Earlier during the meeting with Erdoğan, Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s dedication to fortifying its strategic relationship and partnership with Turkey, especially through collaborations in the defense and defense industry sectors.
“We are resolute in advancing the longstanding friendship between our two nations,” Prabowo stated.
Furthermore, Prabowo emphasized the significance of Turkey as a crucial partner for Indonesia. Hence, both nations must continue to nurture trust and strive to enhance the capabilities of their armed forces.
While in Turkey, Prabowo also held meetings with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Turkish Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and various leaders from Turkey’s defense industry.
