Political analyst Ujang Komarudin has emphasized the increasing friendship between President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and President-elect Prabowo Subianto in the lead-up to the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential inauguration. Their frequent public appearances together have provided confidence to the people, creating a peaceful and stable atmosphere throughout the country.
“This unity brings a sense of tranquility to the citizens. The public is grateful for it because all Indonesians have a stake in ensuring a smooth, peaceful, orderly, and stable transition from the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin government to the Prabowo-Gibran administration,” Ujang stated to the press on Monday (October 14).
Recently, Jokowi and Prabowo enjoyed a casual dinner at Plataran Senayan, and just yesterday, Prabowo and Gibran had lunch with Jokowi at his home in Solo. Today, they participated in the Apel Pengamanan Pelantikan ceremony at the Mobile Brigade Corps (Brimob) headquarters in Depok, West Java, where they reviewed the security forces for the upcoming presidential inauguration on October 20, 2024.
“There are those who try to sow discord and spark conflict between them, but Jokowi and Prabowo continue to uphold a close, harmonious relationship—a bond akin to family that serves the nation’s interests,” Ujang added.
During the security ceremony, Prabowo awaited Jokowi’s arrival, and the two rode together in a Pindad all-terrain assault vehicle (ATAV), examining the preparedness of the security forces for the forthcoming inauguration.
According to Ujang, this collaboration signifies a seamless transfer of power from the Jokowi administration to Prabowo’s, showcasing Indonesia’s stability and peaceful democratic process to the global community.
“I view the actions of Jokowi and Prabowo as crucial in ensuring Indonesia remains stable and orderly. The government’s transition from Jokowi to Prabowo is proceeding peacefully and smoothly, a fact appreciated by the public,” Ujang concluded. (RR)
