Jakarta – Political Weather Station (PWS) has released the results of a survey regarding the electability of presidential and vice presidential candidates. Candidate number 2, Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, topped the list.
The survey was conducted from January 21 to January 25, 2024 in 34 provinces of Indonesia with a sample of 1,200 respondents. The data collection technique involved telephone interviews based on questionnaires.
The survey method used random sampling technique or multistage random sampling with a margin of error (MoE) of +- 2.83% and a confidence level of 95%.
The survey also included the monitoring of netizen conversations through media monitoring from various social media platforms.
Regarding the results of the presidential electability, respondents were asked the question ‘If the presidential election were held today, which pair would you choose?’. The results showed that Prabowo-Gibran obtained 52.3%.
Here are the electability percentages for the candidates:
– Prabowo-Gibran: 52.3%
– Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar: 21.3%
– Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud Md: 19.7%
– undecided voters: 6.7%.
“The results of the PWS survey indicate that if the presidential election were held today, the pair of Prabowo-Gibran would emerge as the winner with an electability rate of 52.3%,” said PWS Research Director, Sharazani MA, in a press conference on Friday (1/26/2024).
“Therefore, if this electability trend continues until February 14, 2024, then the 2024 presidential election will be held in one round. As desired by the majority of the public, the 2024 presidential election will be held in just one round,” he added.
