Prabowo Subianto, the president-elect for the 2024-2029 term, had a notable meeting with Surya Paloh, the Chairman of the NasDem Party, at his residence on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Thursday (April 25).
During the meeting, they shared a handshake, with onlookers exclaiming “official!” as they conversed in one of the rooms at Prabowo’s residence. Prabowo, dressed in batik, even affectionately put his arm around Surya’s shoulder, both men wearing broad smiles and displaying cheerful faces.
After the meeting, Surya, in a blue suit, officially declared NasDem’s support for the Prabowo-Gibran leadership. He stated that his party fully supports the new government under their guidance.
“Therefore, with spirit, enthusiasm, sincerity, and great soul, NasDem today declares and reaffirms support for the new government led by Prabowo-Gibran,” Surya Paloh proclaimed.
Prabowo expressed his gratitude for the support from Surya Paloh, emphasizing the importance of unity to advance Indonesia. He stressed the need for all forces to come together for the benefit of the country amid global challenges.
“Thank you, Mr. Surya, thank you NasDem, we are delighted to have your support,” Prabowo remarked.
