Bandung – Prabowo Subianto, the Chairman of the National Education Foundation of the Republic of Indonesia, attended the graduation ceremony for bachelor’s degrees at the Republic of Indonesia University (UKRI) at the Trans Convention Center in Bandung, West Java, on Thursday (29/2).
During the event, Prabowo delivered a message to the hundreds of male and female graduates, encouraging them not to stop learning so they can contribute more to the country.
Prabowo stated that Indonesia always needs the role of young people. He also urged the graduates to become leaders who always love the people.
“I entrust the young people here to be leaders who love the people,” said Prabowo.
“We need tough young people, we need smart young people, we need clever young people,” he continued.
Prabowo emphasized that the role of a leader is a crucial factor that affects the future of a group. He also advised the graduates to base every step they take on prioritizing the interests of the people.
“You can be innovative, you must be creative, you must seek wealth without robbing the people’s money,” Prabowo added.
“There are still many Indonesians who are struggling, many of our children who do not have breakfast. You young people are their hope.”
Prabowo reminded that the dedication of the youth can start from the smallest part of their environment. In addition to being smart, he also emphasized that young people must be resilient.
“We need young people as potential leaders. In the near future, you may lead starting from the village level, then keep progressing,” stated Prabowo.
UKRI is a university built on the noble ideals of the large family of Soemitro Djojohadikusumo, who envisions Indonesia to become a better nation.
Currently, UKRI has six faculties, namely the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, the Faculty of Social and Literature Sciences, the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Systems, the Faculty of Economics, and the newest addition, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics. (SENOPATI)
