President Prabowo Subianto from Indonesia received a warm welcome from Indonesian citizens upon his arrival in New Delhi, India, late Thursday night. Among those eager to greet Prabowo was Nadine Ardiani Chairunisa, an Indonesian student studying Marketing Communication at Amity University. She, along with another student, Demas Fadel Anggara, awaited Prabowo’s arrival since 5 pm, despite facing delays. Other Indonesian citizens present, such as Rajendra, Marvell, and Adyatama, expressed their gratitude for Prabowo’s personal gesture of shaking hands with them upon arrival. They expressed optimism for a successful working visit in India and a promising future under Prabowo’s leadership.

Prabowo’s visit to India not only signifies a new phase in bilateral relations but also commemorates the 75th anniversary of diplomatic cooperation between Indonesia and India. Before departing Jakarta, Prabowo expressed his pride in being invited as the chief guest at India’s 76th Republic Day celebrations, considering it a great honor for Indonesia. He highlighted the participation of Indonesian TNI troops in the event, emphasizing the strong ties between the two nations. The visit will also include scheduled meetings with Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss enhancing cooperation on various strategic issues.
