Growing up without a father has not hindered Andra Farizki Ramdhani from striving for a better future. Raised by his hardworking mother, Andra, a 10th-grade student at People’s High School (SRMA 10) in South Jakarta, has found new opportunities through the People’s School initiative launched by President Prabowo Subianto. Despite facing financial challenges, Andra expressed gratitude for the People’s School, which has provided him with access to quality education.
The boarding school environment at SRMA 10 has been both challenging and rewarding for Andra, who misses his family but enjoys the lively atmosphere with his friends. His days are filled with activities such as morning prayers, exercise, flag ceremonies, and classes, keeping him busy and engaged. Andra finds strength in his friendships with classmates, sharing moments of laughter and camaraderie.
Andra appreciates the facilities at SRMA 10, which have exceeded his expectations and provided him with a conducive learning environment. Engaging in extracurricular activities like judo and joining student organizations has enriched his school experience. Despite not having a father figure, Andra remains ambitious, dreaming of becoming a judo athlete and pursuing higher education at the Defense University (Unhan) to fulfill his mother’s wishes.
Grateful for the opportunity to study without financial burden, Andra believes that the People’s School offers hope for underprivileged children willing to learn. By eliminating extra costs and simplifying the application process, the school provides a pathway for determined students to access education. From the classroom to the dormitory, Andra’s experiences at the People’s School have empowered him with knowledge, independence, and a sense of purpose. With unwavering determination and his mother’s support, Andra believes that his dreams are within reach.
